Adventure One Surf School is
located on beautiful Ballyheirnan Bay in Fanad. It is approximately a
30min drive North from Letterkenny, 35mins from Downings and 20mins from
Rathmullan.
Surf School
Adventure One surf school is the leading ISA (Irish Surfing Association)
approved school on the north coast of Donegal. Located on Ballyheirnan
Bay, Fanad, Co. Donegal, the school is run by Iain Gilmour who has over
25 years surfing experience and has competed for most of that time
placing in national finals both here in Ireland and in the Channel
Islands.
Being ISA approved means our instructors are fully qualified ISA
coaches, RLSS beach lifeguards and are fully insured. This means that
you , the customer, will be getting the best tuition in the
safest way possible. The school caters for individuals, families,
schools and corporate groups and will be open from April to the end of
October.
Wetsuits and boards are provided. Transport to and from the beach is not
provided.
Lesson Content
Lessons will be 2 hours in duration and will be split into 3 sections.
Firstly a small intorduction about the boards and wet-suits used and
some safety points.
Then you will learn on the beach how to catch a wave in the prone
position before hitting the water to try it out. You will not be going
out above waist depth so you can get your confidence.
After 20 mins of catching waves in the prone position we will go back to
the beach where you will learn how to stand on the board. The for the
remainder of the class we will be in the water practising what youve
learned.
This lesson is designed to give a basic introduction to surfing in a fun
and safe way so that you leave Adventure One surf school completely
stoked on surfing.
