The 'Bridge' is a small bar with an upstairs restaurant located in the heritage village of Ramelton. The  building was originally an old Coaching House, like a small hotel for weary travellers in days gone by. The beds have been replaced with tables in the upstairs rooms, where a limited number of seats are available to diners who like fish. The fish is treated with as much reverence as the guests and appears, cooked in a simple fashion, but with care not to overcook the most wonderful raw materials. Try the Dover Sole pan fried in butter or the Hake in lime juice. The Spicy Fishcakes or the Crab & Prawn starters are well worth adding to your order.

Wash the food down with a wonderful pint of Guinness from the downstairs bar. It is a great advert for Guinness and is hard to match anywhere. Brid, the landlady, looks after the beer and ensures a great pint every time, with a smile and a chat if you have some time.

When you have eaten enough Sole for the body try some music for the Soul, which is a big thing on Saturday night, where the standard is as good as the food. Some well known national and international musicians have played in this renowned venue.

Located in the small quaint port village of Ramelton 6 miles from Letterkenny, the Bridge Bar and Restaurant is well worth the trip.  It is a casual venue, so leave the shirt and the starch at home.
